Apex is a financial advisory firm with a national footprint.  We provide financial advice to consumers and small businesses with focus on mortgages, funds management and insurance.  Head office is in Mt Eden, Auckland with regional offices in Tauranga, Hamilton, Hawkes Bay, Te Awamutu and Christchurch.  This is a growing business with 85 staff nationwide, comprising financial advisers and operational teams.

We are now looking for a full time Data Specialist based in Auckland office to join the growing team technology and data team.

The focus of this role is to enhance data integrity, develop insights from our client data, and lead the establishment of a data analytics platform.

This includes leveraging Salesforce Data Cloud (or equivalent platforms) to integrate data from various external providers, build smart insights to find hidden business values within the data and ensure seamless data synchronisation across systems.

 

You will also be able to;

  • Develop and implement strategies for integrating data transfers with third-party providers, emphasising safe, timely, and accurate exchanges.
  • Utilize Salesforce Data Cloud or similar platforms to create a robust analytics practice, generating actionable insights from combined internal and external data sources
  • Lead the effort to utilise Open Banking data, enhancing client outcomes through innovative data use.
  • Manage client data integration from mergers or acquisitions into the Apex CRM, maintaining seamless system connectivity.
  • Oversee ongoing data maintenance, processing, and the seamless integration of CRM with other systems.
  • Analysing and reporting on data using a variety of analytical tools
  • Proactively proposing process or methodology improvements in business procedures or approaches based on their findings.
  • Reporting on past events, problems, and trends so that others in the organisation may benefit from them.
  • Trying out new BI tools or analytics techniques to discover improved methods of analysing data.
  • Analyse client data to understand client profiles better and identify value-adding marketing opportunities.
  • Define new data collection and analysis processes to support the development of direct marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives.
  • Identifying patterns and trends in data sets
  • Ongoing data maintenance and processing.
  • Working closely across the data cleansing team on their requirements and upskilling them on data practices.
  • Build and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships – CRM platforms, data cleaning agencies, etc.
  • Undertake post-implementation reviews (PIRs) of activities, providing results against objectives and capturing learnings for the future.

 

What you will need to bring to the role;

  • Expertise in data systems, with demonstrable experience setting up and utilising data analytics platforms, such as Salesforce Data Cloud.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in data analysis, with a strong focus on generating business insights and integrating data from multiple sources.
  • A relevant degree in Data Science, Analytics, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • In-depth understanding of Salesforce, with experience in leveraging Salesforce and other related tools and platforms for data analysis and insights generation.
